This was the stance of Republicans in 2008.

“We should not elect somebody as untested and inexperienced as Obama,” Alex Conant, a spokesman for the RNC, said in October of 2008. 

‘Barack Obama is a weak closer precisely because his closing arguments ignore voters’ underlying concerns about his inexperience…at a time when America faces historic crises, we should not elect somebody as untested and inexperienced as Obama.'”

As a matter of some interest, I did not vote for Obama in 2008, nor did I vote for Trump in 2016.

I am a firm believer in the adage,"experience beats an argument every time."

Yet, in 2016, these same Republicans elected the most inexperienced politician to the highest office in the land. They have been scrambling ever since to explain his missteps to an alarmed electorate, citing them as inexperience and a work in progress.

Hmmmmm...

Be very careful how you spit out words; you will be surprised how often you have to eat them.

This is what they are declaring in 2017 as they try to explain away the shenanigans of Donald Trump.

‘The president is a neophyte to politics — he’s been doing this a little over a year,’’ Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif. said. ‘‘I think a lot of the things he says, I think you guys sometimes take literally.’’

However, read again this prophetic declaration from  an editorial of the Dallas Morning News. This is a paper who previously had not endorsed a Democratic candidate for president in over 75 yearIIn endorsing Hilary Clinton, they wrote the following in September of 2016:

"Trump's values are hostile to conservatism. He plays on fear — exploiting base instincts of xenophobia, racism and misogyny — to bring out the worst in all of us, rather than the best. HIS SERIAL SHIFTS on fundamental issues reveal an astounding absence of preparedness. And his IMPROVISATIONAL INSULTS AND MIDNIGHT TWEETS exhibit a dangerous lack of judgment and impulse control."

His supporters have continued to chastise the press for criticizing his errors and waging a war to bring down his presidency like they did to Richard Nixon.

Ben Stein, a speech writer for Nixon, stated in a CNN interview that the press unjustly brought down Nixon and is trying  to do the same thing to Donald Trump. Apparently, Trump will be all right if the media would leave him alone.

They are unfair to him.

Hmmmmm....

It is all the fault of the media and the Donald shares no blame.

Hmmmm....This is the party of personal responsibility. Apparently, only when it applies to the other guy.

Here is my take on all this hypocritical human behavior, of which all of us, including this writer, are guilty.

The Bible says we can swallow a camel and strangle with a gnat.

Aaron took no personal responsibility when the people built a golden calf in the desert. He explained to Moses,"the people(the press) gave me the gold, and I threw it in the fire, and out came this calf."

The native American described it thusly "white man speaks with a forked tongue and his words have no IRON.”

The humanist calls it “situational ethics." 

Let us outline the litany of sins committed by an unrepentant, unregenerated media:

None of this applies to Donald Trump and, if it so appears, that would be "fake news" or "alternative facts."

"I'm automatically attracted to beautiful [women]—I just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. Just kiss. I don't even wait. And when you're a star they let you do it. You can do anything ... Grab them by the p@#$y. You can do anything."

Some of them have been married three times and declared bankruptcy at least four times.

Definitely not solid rocks of commitment to anything or anyone-- these guys in the press.

The media incorrectly stated there were more people at his inauguration, despite evidence to the contrary.

They viciously reported 3 to 5 million people voted illegally. They promised a congressional investigation into this malfeasance which has yet to materialize.

They have informed us that nobody is interested in seeing our non-payment of income taxes in spite of requests by a million citizens.

They assured us that Barack Obama was not a U. S. citizen and therefore an illegitimate president.

They hastened to make us aware that he illegally wire-tapped our phones in the Trump Tower without any shred of proof.

Shame, shame, shame.

It is all the media’s fault. They are the enemy of the American people.

Now since we are totally without fault,  completely blameless, entirely misunderstood and innocent.

Fellow citizens, what should we do with them, our accusers, the scoundrels, hooligans and liars?

Should we silence them,crucify them outside the city walls or kick them out of town and country?

Hmmmm..... there's a novel idea.

Now, do you mean that literally or figuratively?
