Managing Editor of NEWD Magazine Tiffani Knowles stars in the upcoming musical production of Finding Joy, written and directed by NYC musical genius Perth Philip.
Finding Joy is familiar story about the challenges that young Christian adults face engaging a society that no longer holds on to Christian values.
Knowles plays Joy Harrison, a freshman who before starting college, abode by the rules of a very rigid Christian upbringing. The daughter of a pastor and a liturgical dance minister, she never once questioned her own belief system.
Entering an institution of higher learning, however, causes Joy to doubt the things she held as true her entire life. A drug-addicted roommate, a seductive new college dance team and the college flirt will all test her convictions.
While discovering all that the world has to offer and making some mistakes along the way, she eventually finds God's purpose for her life.
The play goes up on November 2 at St. John’s University’s Little Theater in Queens, NY.
An arts showcase and fundraiser for the production takes place this Sunday at 6 p.m. at Kingdom Life Ministries International, 770 Park Place, Brooklyn, NY.
Tickets are $25. To purchase tickets, visit www.findingjoythemusical.com.
