A Jesus Thing at Luxe on Good Friday
April 1, 2013By Tiffani Knowles

New York experienced a touch of the Miami heat with South Florida's hottest Christian DJ - Mr. E - serving as the guest DJ/host for the night The Luxe Lounge's Spring Bling Jesus Thing party on Good Friday, March 29.

For the hundred 20 to30-somethings in attendance, it was the best way to kick off the holiest of weekends. A night of celebration, dancing, praise and worship in the midst of Christ-like minded young adults, what could have been better?

The Luxe Lounge at Signet Hall, 140-46 Queens Blvd in Queens, NY, opened up at 10:30 p.m. for the after-hours crowd who wanted to network, dance, savor mocktails & frozen beverages courtesy of the Beverage Bar, and relish in live entertainment on Good Friday night.

The party doubled as the official birthday bash for renown NYC DJ Mark Xclusive who captivated the crowd after midnight with the ultimate Caribbean music mix session.

As a birthday tribute, long-time friend and artist Eddie Neblett performed his signature track, "Rivers of Living Water."

Representing co-organizer Miami-based entertainment group Soul Movement Crew, DJ Mr.E spun the best in Urban Gospel Reggae, Soca, Hip Hop, Afro-Beat, Merengue and Compas until 3 a.m. His style, which is most interactive, galvanized guests to join him on the dance floor to learn dances like the "Cupid Shuffle," "Grateful Slide," and various Caribbean line dances.

Audiences were in stitches as Mr. E made them laugh, encouraged them to mingle and sample his favorite drink for the night: "Cotton Candy."

One of the highlights was a prophetic word delivered by Scriptural Voices minister, Renwick Duesberry. He said that the Lord was saying that this venture is not just for entertainment but it is also for the ministry of saving souls. His word was followed up by a dynamic prayer and worship session with attendees falling to their knees and raising their hands in adoration of God.

"This was the best one so far," said Monifa Nero, who attended three Luxe events in a row. "Everything was on point from DJ to the bar to the coat check....this one was great."

Partial proceeds of The Luxe's Spring Bling Jesus Thing event will aid the Eradicating Fatherlessness campaign headed by Pastor Andre Harrison.

The Luxe Lounge is a Christian nightspot for the Young, Urban, Upwardly Mobile Christian sponsored by GCEN, TNI Radio, LifeZone Television, NEWD Magazine and The Soul Movement Crew.

I definitely wanted to be in an atmosphere like this. I was nervous when I got there but when I heard the music and saw the saints working it on the dance floor, I wanted to join, so I did.I felt free to dance and at the same time giving honor to God. This event was a total success and definetliy not a wack experience. P.s. The DJ was UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!!I learned new dances thanks to him.
