Take Back the Night in The Bronx 2013

Lehman College in the Bronx, NY will host its third annual "Take Back the Night" event on Wednesday, April 24.


Sponsored by Lehman College's Student Affairs, the event will begin at 2 p.m. with a Community Resource Fair. This portion of the event is devoted to educating guests about sexual assault and abuse as well as providing outlets for victims and survivors.


The program will feature speakers including Bronx Assemblyman Mark Gjonaj of NYS 80th Assembly District, and Bronx teacher Lydia Cuomo, a survivor of rape and advocate of the "rape is rape" bill.


There will be a theatrical performance by The Price of Silence, an artistic movement dedicated to shedding light on the global women's rights crisis through the arts.


From 5-8 p.m., the event will conclude with a Candlelight March around the campus followed by an open mic session.
