Jamaican Film Screening at NY's Lincoln Center

ImageNation presents an evening of film, music and discussion surrounding the new Jamaican film Better Mus' Come at 7 p.m. February 16 at Lincoln Center's Walter Reade Theatre, 165 W. 65th St. in New York.Directed by Storm Saulter, Better Mus' Come is set in 1970's Jamaica when a most violent moment in the country's history is taking place. Rival gangs are enlisted by warring political factions to disrupt the democratic process, and bloodshed is being unleashed on the streets of Jamaica. This moment in history between 1977 and 1978 was called the Green Bay Massacre.
This explosive film follows Ricky, a gang leader and political pawn, as he struggles to navigate the hardships of life in Kingston, and to define a better way of life for his young son.
The evening will be complemented by the music of reggae artist Mr. Vegas and the art work of Trinidadian-Jamaican painter JaSon Auguste.
