Don't Hold It Against Her

Not everyone is ecstatic about Britney Spears latest single "Hold it Against Me."

Just days after dropping her new video to accompany the song on Feb. 17, a longtime country duo called the Bellamy Brothers decided to cook up a multi-million dollar lawsuit accusing the pop star of copyright infringement.

"Literally thousands of fans for both artists have also taken notice," said attorney Christopher E. Schmidt in a recent statement pertaining to the case.

Apparently, there were many similarities between the Bellamy Brothers' song, "If I said you had a beautiful body, would you hold it against me?" when compared to Spears song "Hold it Against Me?" which stated "If I said I want your body now, would you hold it against me?"

According to sources, this is not the first time Spears' songwriter and co-producer Dr. Luke has been sued for copyright infringement and/or plagiarism.

Dr. Luke, also known as Lukas Gottwald, has a very shady past which includes a heated lawsuit in 2007 when he brought young rock star Avril Lavigne down with him for copyright infringement for the single "Girlfriend."

Other artists such as Daughtry and Katy Perry can attest to being the victim of Dr. Luke's "writing skills."

"Howard (Bellamy) and I have no personal beef with Britney. She's a talented gal. But professionally we feel completely ripped off. We will without doubt take the appropriate legal action if our attorneys agree we've been ripped off," David Bellamy told the U.K.'s Daily Star.

The media still waits for a statement from Brittany Spears representatives.
