Convenience Store Diet

Is it possible to lose weight while eating Twinkies, Oreos and other sugary treats? The answer is yes, according to Mark Haub, a university professor who lost 27 lbs on a junk-food diet.

The Kansas State University professor lost 27 lbs in 10 weeks by eating these sugary wonders every 3 hours instead of meals. His plan was to show his Human Nutrition students that, in weight loss, calorie counting is what matters the most, not so much the quality of the calories. Apparently, he was right.

According to CNN, his body mass index went from 28.8, considered overweight, to 24.9, which is normal. He now weighs 174 pounds.

Even though his point was proven, he does not discuss the chances of getting diabetes because of the consumption of so much sugar.

"I'm not geared to say this is a good thing to do," he said. "I'm stuck in the middle. I guess that's the frustrating part. I can't give a concrete answer. There's not enough information to do that."
