Glee Gone Wild

The PTC has done it again. Only a few weeks after the Miley Cyrus incident, the Parents Television Committee has struck the entertainment industry with another complaint -- all of which point toward the cast of FOX's hit TV series Glee. Actors Lea Michele, Dianna Agron and Cory Monteith have all posed for the racy cover of GQ Magazine's November issue.
"It is disturbing thatGQ, which is explicitly written for adult men, is sexualizing the actresses who play high school-aged characters on Glee in this way. It borders on pedophilia.Sadly, this is just the latest example of the overtsexualization of young girls in entertainment," said Tim Winter, President of the PTC.
Other high-profile individuals had a similar response to the shoot.
Katie Couric, news anchor for CBS Evening News, said: "The program is already edgy in the right ways; these images don't really -- in my humble opinion -- fit the 'Glee' gestalt."
Glee, a musical comedy-drama television, focuses on the high school glee club competing on the show choir competition circuit, while its members deal with relationships, sexuality and social issues.
Proponents, however, consider it to be completely appropriate for actresses who are well over the age of 21. At least they aren't 17 year olds rolling around in a bed and parading in underwear (Cyrus). According to viewers, Britney Spears' "Hit Me Baby One More Time" video was said to be worse than the "Glee Gone Wild" photo shoot.
In the end, Lawrence O'Donnell of "The Last Word" made it 'clear' to PTC that "the censorship battle has been lost."
